How to Style a Silk Bandana
Dress (old Zara), Vintage Chanel Scarf
One of my favorite ways to style a silk scarf is folded in half and tied around the neck. I’m usually drawn to bright, high-contrast, graphic prints, but I love how this vintage Chanel scarf takes a completely different approach. The print is simple and understated, yet it pairs beautifully with a graphic print (or I imagine white or navy too). It’s almost the opposite of what I typically gravitate toward, which is exactly why I love it.

This styling method works well with square scarves ranging from about 21″ to 34″. In my opinion, the larger the scarf, the better—you get to see more of the print and create a fuller drape. For reference, this scarf measures 34″ x 34″ and is made from a drapey silk that falls softly around the neck. Some vintage scarves are made from silk twill, which tends to be a bit more structured and substantial.
