Off To The Hudson Valley

I’m heading to the Hudson Valley next week for a little summer vacation, antiquing with my sister and a few girlfriends. I’m from the other side of New York, but I’ve never spent much time exploring this area. For some reason, it’s been calling to me lately.

As I was packing, I noticed myself gravitating toward a softer, more natural feminine style—and I’m really into it. Relaxed silhouettes, soft prints, natural fabrics, earthy tones, and a few richer colors mixed in to ground it all.

What’s interesting is that it feels like a pull away from my usual classic, polished, playful aesthetic. Less structured, more relaxed. Less curated, more lived in. Still all me, just a little softer right now.

CLOTHING

  • Dresses- I packed two maxi dresses for easy summer dressing. I recently scooped up this floral one on sale and it’s even prettier in person. I’m also bringing an older Zara dress in a similar silhouette. This Rhode wrap dress from The RealReal has become a favorite too—it’s incredibly versatile and can be styled a bunch of different ways.
  • Shorts- Lately I’ve been loving an elastic-waist short paired with a flowy top or lightweight sweater. I’m packing an older linen pair that look just like these, along with these striped shorts that are part of a matching set. This pair caught my eye too.
  • Tops- This one-shoulder tank reminds me of a Reformation favorite I’ve worn for years. I’m also bringing this Ulla Johnson mixed-print blouse I found on The RealReal a few months ago—it’s light, airy, and perfect with linen. This striped poplin top keeps selling out so keep your eyes on it for a re-stock; I love the neckline for necklaces.
  • Sweaters- And of course, my beloved Jenni Kayne cotton cable sweater is coming along. They’ve recently restocked it, and it’s still one of my all-time favorite pieces.
  • Tanks- A few of my favorite ribbed tanks will make the cut too. They’re the foundation of so many summer outfits.
  • Pants- These linen pants are a non-negotiable. Comfortable enough to travel in and polished enough for dinner.
  • Lounge/Workout- I recently picked up this matching sports bra and athletic shorts set to wear with this oversized top. We’re planning a few hikes, and it’s nice to have something functional that still feels put together. This set is cute for lounging too.

ACCESSORIES

  • Scarves- I’m packing a couple of floral vintage scarves similar to this one. They’re one of my favorite ways to add personality to a simple tank.
  • Bags- The Gucci heart bag is definitely coming along while I still have her in my collection. I’ll also bring a raffia tote for everyday adventures and antique hunting (similar here).
  • Sandals- These brown and black strappy sandals are my summer go-tos. They work with everything and are comfortable to walk in.
  • Earrings- I’m drawn to natural materials right now. I’ll be packing a vintage pair of white tassel earrings similar to this pair here.
  • Necklaces– It’s officially bead necklace season! This heart necklace reminds me of a vintage piece I own.
  • Sunglasses- I’m bringing one pair with a little more personality and another classic option depending on the outfit and mood.

Looking at everything together, the theme feels soft and relaxed. Exactly how I hope this trip feels!
