January 2025 Outfits

This was the first time I decided to pull about 25 outfits from my closet onto a clothing rack for the month ahead. Rather than spend time every morning figuring out what to wear, I dedicated an afternoon to styling looks so I could easily pull them to wear for work, going out and any events or occasions I already had on the calendar. I even put thought into what outerwear, footwear and accessories I’d wear with each one!

I found this activity really useful and plan to do it again for February. It’s helping me get intimate with my closet to notice what I wear a lot and why. I realized how much I wear black over brown and tans! And if I do lean brown, I much prefer darker tones like caramel and chocolate. Flat boots, textured fashion sweaters, solid cashmere sweaters, belts and turtlenecks were clearly my go-tos.

My original plan was to document each outfit with a photo but some of them I didn’t love (and didn’t want to remember, haha). I ended up with about 16 looks that felt like me, comfy and classic with a bit of charm like a colorful bag or printed scarf.

I only bought two new items this month! A winter floral Farm Rio dress and a bright striped Pucci turtleneck from The Real Real. Both were special fashion pieces that I know I’ll have in my closet for a long time. After reviewing all the categories in my closet last year (which you can take a peek at here), I feel so much more clear on when something is a hell yes for me! I also know where the holes in my closet lie.

I originally planned to invest in a few new core pieces to round out my winter wardrobe but I’m glad I held off. Doing this exercise helped me get clear on exactly what what I want to layer in next. I could see how often I wore my black suede Chanel belt, Sanctuary turtleneck, Margaux black suede booties (old flat pointed style) and Agolde Ren jeans. I ordered a few sweaters, boots and darker pairs of jeans to try and will report back on those next month!

Below I’m sharing the links to the pieces I wore the most as well as, what I purchased this month and the pieces available in my shop. If you have questions on anything else, let me know in the comments.
