Love Notes- December 2025
This time of year can be magical—and also totally overwhelming. As a highly sensitive person, I’ve been focusing on protecting and channeling my energy so I don’t burn out from the pull of a million different directions.
Right now, I’m experimenting with doing less—but with greater intention. I love tracking the astrological transits I’m personally going through with The Pattern app. A big one for me right now is Jupiter, the planet of expansion, conjunct my Mars and Sun in Cancer. For me, that means I really take action when I feel emotionally safe and aligned—my body seems to be refusing anything that doesn’t feel good anymore!
That applies to workouts, creating course material, content creation, and even rest. One of the hardest parts of being a creative is learning how to land: both yourself and your ideas. Our energy is fluid and wants to move differently depending on the day and season we’re in! It’s a constant juggling between structure and flow.
I’ve been wanting to break out of some old patterns and let loose a bit more! So I took my first improv class a couple of weekends ago, and it was such a playful, welcoming way to feel alive and open to life in the present moment. We warmed up our vocals, acted on our toes, laughed at ourselves, worked as a team, and practiced letting down our defenses. I really needed something to do that wasn’t productive.
I’m heading back to Buffalo to be with my family for Christmas (hopefully it’s a white one!), so I opted for a solo, rejuvenating Thanksgiving weekend. I went for a long hike, facetimed with my sister while making steak and cranberry sauce, and took three days off social media. Living an analog life felt so spacious, insights were dropping in left and right! Definitely something I want to do more of in 2026.
I’m not a huge gift giver, but I do appreciate thoughtful self-care items, so I put together a gift guide with ideas at a range of price points to care for yourself and inspire your shopping list. My sister and I plan holiday week activities, and this year we ordered some beautiful watercoloring books from a small business and hope to go ice skating!
Another idea: gifting a service from a small business, like a local spa or favorite restaurant. You can email me to coordinate gifting a 75-minute Human Design chart reading to a likeminded soul!
When it comes to holiday decor, I keep it simple. My vintage ceramic tree came with red lights, but I swapped them for clear ones a few years ago. A splatter bowl on my coffee table is filled with vintage ornaments that are so pretty to look at.
I swear I have more florals and greenery now than any other time of year: a wreath, pink poinsettia, winter peonies, and paperwhites. Surprisingly, everything is from Trader Joe’s, the best place for seasonal goodies. Next year, I’d love to add garland to my living room doorway! What will we be potting indoors come spring? I’ve got a couple of these on the way so I’m ready for a refresh.
Currently, I’m loving red and brown as a color combo. I scored these chocolate brown suede flats in the Margaux Black Friday sale, and if you’re in San Francisco, they just opened a store on Fillmore Street! I’ve known the founders, Alexa and Sarah, since we popped up at their first SF store back in 2018 and have absolutely loved watching them grow and supporting the brand.
In case you missed it, here are some other holiday outfit ideas that you can probably pull together with what’s already in your closet. This jacket is vintage Max Mara that I found on The Real Real back in summer but I also own this jacket and LOVE it in the chocolate brown color. If you try it, just make sure to size down.
For holiday outfits, I’m refreshing my wardrobe with statement pants. These zigzag ones are playful with a touch of metallic thread and an elastic waistband—they remind me of Missoni. I’ve already worn the floral pair so many times with different neutrals, and I can’t wait to wear them into spring.
I really love practicality, versatility, comfort, and charm all in one item!
I just finished Seth Godin’s This Is Marketing, and it has me thinking a lot about how we share ourselves and our work—because not everyone perceives life the same way we do. Reading this gave me ideas for new ways to connect and inspire that actually matter to others, while also staying true to myself.
A lot of my writing this year has been an experiment in sharing what I notice, explore, and create. I’m curious to evolving into writing that invites others in more deeply, while still honoring my own perspective and process. I don’t know exactly what that means or looks like yet but that’s okay, it’s a seed that’s been planted!
I’m learning that showing up consistently and authentically is what matters most, and how people receive what I share is totally outside my control. Thank you for being here as I keep finding my voice and building this tribe of fellow free spirits.
I can’t believe we’re already halfway through the six-month Magnetize Your Business group—time flies! New visions are taking shape, and I can’t wait to see them come to life in the next couple months.
If likeminded community and growth are on your priority list for 2026, consider joining the next 6-month Manifest Your Future cohort. We’ll be expanding our capacity to hold more life and energy. Enrollment is open, and we kick off February 10th. Would love to have you!
Other fun things are in the works, including a new A Great Curiosity About You podcast episode with my client Shari of Graze NY and a couple of workshops. Until then, I’ve got a friend in town and a writing class to finish at The Writing Salon before I head to New York in a couple of weeks.
Lastly, is anyone else doing the To Be Magnetic Return To Magic Challenge? I’m so excited about the Inner Child theme this year.
Wishing you all a festive and reflective season!
