Overcome perfectionism and connect with your creativity!
I have a fascination with how things come to form and have been studying creativity for the past decade. Even more than my love for vintage, lies a deep curiosity about how to birth and build things in the physical world. What I’ve come to learn is that you need a healthy balance of discipline and devotion to what you love in order to see results. Magic flows when it feels safe to.
Creativity is the caviar of life, allowing us to step out of the mundane and get lost in luxurious feelings. But how we bring the ideas that land inside of us to life isn’t always as glamourous. It requires dedication and courage to overcome the perfectionism, doubt and frustration that comes with the job description of being an artist. We’re going to talk about both sides of it in case you’re trying to make a living out of it.
From working with creatives day in and day out, I find that we all struggle with perfectionism. We doubt that we’re good enough so we either avoid expression all together or we try even harder to prove ourselves and struggle to get the results we want. I would never tell a 5 year old that made a drawing for me that it was horrible, would you? We have to learn how to love ourselves exactly as we are and we do that by seeing ourselves expressed. From there we can work on building our skills.
In this workshop we’re going to explore what creativity is, where it comes from, how it works and how to love your unique expression of it. We’re going to re-connect to the young parts of us that are free spirited and know what they love. My hope is that you walk away feeling inspired to create more of what you love and understand how to trust the process of creation. Â
The cost to sign-up is to confirm your commitment to showing up for yourself and the community. Once you sign-up, you will receive an email confirmation along with the zoom link. No problem if you can’t make it to the live workshop, I will send out a recording upon the session. Bring your journal and a photo of you shining as a youngin’ that makes you smile and I’ll see you there!
