Understanding Your Personal Style
When Sweet & Spark closed, I lost access to an endless stream of new arrivals. One of the best parts of the job was getting to wear all the new clothes and share about them!
Â
I found myself back in my own closet feeling frustrated. I really wanted a wardrobe that I loved. After working in fashion for so long, I didn’t understand why I didn’t already have one.
Â
There were beautiful pieces everywhere–special tops, statement sweaters, things that held memorable stories– but I struggled to create outfits for my new life. Why does none of this feel like me anymore?
Â
I knew I needed more foundational pieces to anchor it all, but I didn’t have the money to make that happen instantly. So I did a big closet clean out and then worked with what I had.
Â
Every day, I got dressed and took a photo, making note of what felt good, what didn’t, and what I wished I had. I noticed the colors, silhouettes, proportions, and fabrics I was drawn to again and again. Over time, this helped me know exactly what to invest in next.
Â
Slowly, my style became clearer. And five years later, I can genuinely say, I have a closet I love! It’s not huge (like I originally thought I wanted) and I still have a list a mile long of things I wish I had.
Â
But what I do have is a collection of pieces that work together in interesting ways. Foundational basics, rich prints, lots of color, and timeless vintage that all just feels so good to wear.
Â
Now each season, I edit out a few things while adding a couple new into the mix, without feeling pressure to keep up. Shopping is fun again like it was in high school. I love bookmarking pieces that catch my eye throughout the month before making any decisions.
What surprised me most about creating a process was that it helped me trust myself again during a period of life when I really needed it.
Â
Because style isn’t really about clothes. Maybe fashion is. But style is is a way to say who you are without having to speak. It’s about paying attention to your own preferences, noticing what feels good in your body, and separating your voice from all the noise.
Â
I’ve always loved helping people express themselves and build their collections through unique finds in The Vintage Shop and by sharing pieces I love. Now I want to share the deeper process I discovered behind it all with you too.
Â
Because we don’t really need more options or someone telling us what to wear to fit in or be “cool.” We need a steady process we can count on through the many seasons of life. A way to understand our preferences, evaluate what we already own, and slowly evolve our wardrobe as we grow and change.
Â
Introducing The Personal Style Lab
The Personal Style Lab is a 1:1 experience designed to help you do exactly that. I’ll guide you through how to think about your closet, your style, your shopping, and your outfits in a more intentional way.
Across 6 virtual sessions, we’ll move through a structured process together. We’ll also have some fun too— taking daily outfit photos so we can study the rhythm of your real life and refine what works for you.
This is how our time together will flow…
Personal Style Words & Overall Vision
Using Human Design as our guide, we’ll explore your energetic expression and how it shows up in the way you see yourself and what you value. You’ll bring inspiration images and share your aesthetic vision along with your budget, habits, and challenges. From there, we’ll define your three style words—your filter for everything you wear.
Preferences & Foundations
We’ll refine your style filters and get specific about what you actually like—color, print, proportion, texture. We’ll also map your foundational pieces: denim, tops, sweaters, shoes, and the brands you naturally gravitate toward. We’ll begin building a living shopping list with practical needs, wishes, and things you want to try.
Closet Editing & Intuitive Decision-Making
Using Human Design as a guide again, we’ll work with your intuition in real time to decide what to keep, what to release, and why. You’ll then create a clear plan for a closet cleanout and take a full inventory so we can understand your baseline and what’s needed to move toward your vision.
Outfit Formulas & Shopping
We’ll identify your core outfit formulas based on your lifestyle, occasions, and travel needs, giving you a clear view of what’s working and what’s missing so we can refine your shopping list in real time. We’ll also cover practical shopping strategies so you can make more confident, aligned decisions.
Category Studies: Gaps & Strengths
We’ll zoom out and look at your wardrobe by category to understand what’s working, what’s missing, and what’s overrepresented—continuing to refine your shopping list as we go.
Seasonal Merchandising & Styling System
We’ll then look at the current season and walk through your seasonal reset process—pulling everything together, creating outfits for the next few months, and reprioritizing your shopping list so it becomes a system you can return to season after season.
By the end of this process, my goal isn’t to hand you a list of things to buy… although there will be plenty of organic sharing along the way. My hope is that you’ll leave with a deeper point of view on your own unique style and rhythm.
