Vintage Edit Vol 3

This week’s vintage edit is all Chanel and was inspired by early to mid 2000s styles. These styles aren’t as popular as the 1980s, 1990s and the current styles of today and therefore tend to be a bit more affordable. The dark aged silver hardware you see is called ruthenium and lends itself to a more edgy and modern look, something I’ve been gravitating towards more lately. It looks better with age too, which is a good thing since Chanel stopped doing 24kt plated gold in the early 00s and I think some of their newer plating styles tarnish more easily. If you have a newer Chanel bag, I’d be so curious if you could share your experience with the hardware quality in the comments below.

BAGS

The tweed Chanel bag is the newest style in this mix, hailing from 2021. Loving this large scale pink, black and white plaid because of how timeless it is. I recently have been thinking about clutches and how underrated they are! Maybe it’s a post pandemic realization of how important it is to have a good one in your closet. I’m in need myself as I’ve slowly started going out more frequently. The black caviar leather one is in the timeless clutch style which is the most iconic. I also love the raspberry jewel toned one in caviar leather although a neutral is obviously a no brainer.

This is the first boy bag that’s ever caught my eye! But hey, I’m open to evolving my tastes and I love the forest green color and smaller size as it’s a crossbody wallet style. It feels like a special one!

Obsessed with this milk chocolate brown quilted tote. I like the large quilts and oversized CC emblem on the front. Feels like a unique take on a classic. Also love the black quilted tote too. It’s the same exact shape as the Louis Vuitton MM tote that I have in multiple colors and use all the time, it’s just too practical not to love. And last but not least included this twisted leather one because of it’s originality. It’s got that LA cool girl vibe written all over it!

SCARVES

The bright floral silk scarf is a newer style from 2013 and I love the colors of the rainbow in it. The emerald green one has more of a tropical vibe print wise which I really like too. The colors feel rich though so it’s sensibility is good for winter time in a warmer location.

BELTS

This dark brown leather Chanel belt has more of a masculine vibe but I kinda like it, plus it’s a score price wise. The black caviar quilted one is a classic, although if I had to pick, I would prefer the brown caviar one with the gold interlocking cc’s that’s available for sale in my collection.

JEWELRY

Chanel jewelry in the early and mid 2000s used a variation of silver finishes and the styles tended to be much daintier than the bold 80s/90s styles. My favorite pair here is the jade like studs. The bezel set stones in this pair give just enough bling. I also love the subtle grey on grey tonal cc drop pair. The resin cuff and nude enamel studs are cuties too.
