Vintage Vases

Today is the first Sunday of the month which means it was a day spent at the Alameda Antique Faire

On my vintage shopping list was a few new vases to enjoy flowers in my living room. Most of the vases I have are either small bud vases or seem to be too tall and wide for a standard floral arrangement. If you’ve seen peeks of my living room on Instagram, you know that there is A LOT of gold. So I’ve been thinking about adding in some crystal to mix it up and tone it down at the same time.

Wouldn’t you know it, the perfect sized Waterford Crystal Rose Bowl vase called my name this morning. I love the size for my bar cart (which I use as a side table) and it will also be great on my coffee table too, it has a 5″ opening and is about 8″ tall. I also learned that the proper name for this style vase is a rose bowl because it perfectly fits a dozen roses.

When I left the faire it was still early, only 9am, so I stopped for some flowers on my way home and voilà! I always find myself feeling inspired after a day antique shopping and I like to go home and peruse Etsy for similar items to see if I got a good deal (and also see if it’s a rare find)!

In addition, I purchased this cranberry colored vase today because I loved the deep jewel color for fall. My apartment could use a few rich and grounding colors in the sea of pastels!
