Inside A Human Design Chart Reading
Your Human Design chart is a map of how your energy naturally works.
You can pull a free one online, but knowing the map isn’t the same as navigating it. In a reading, I can help you see where you’re naturally attuned to yourself and what might need attention to get unstuck.
Most people come to a reading wanting answers: “Okay, so what should I do?” But the wisdom of Human Design rarely gives black-and-white solutions the way we want it to. Instead, it offers a deeper understanding of your natural patterns because energy becomes meaningful when you learn how it actually shows up in your life.
Think of your unique energy map as a guide—you learn to navigate it by noticing when you feel frustration, overwhelm, fear, or doubt, and by discovering how to work with these experiences instead of against them. The goal is to help you become your own energy reader, so you can feel better inside whatever it is you’re creating or doing.
Imagine a cozy virtual chat, workbook open, as we move through the elements of your chart. We’ll start with a system overview, move into your main energy fundamentals, and then dive into specifics. Here’s a taste of the flow…
MAIN ENERGY TYPE
There are 5 main energy types, each with its own operating system, aura, and superpower. It’s your natural rhythm, the way you’re built to move through the world.
When we feel frustration or anger, it often signals that energy isn’t flowing properly. In a reading, we explore whether you’re moving at a pace that works for your system or may be trying to force consistency where flexibility is what you truly need.
We explore:
When do you feel fully alive and energized?
When do you feel drained or blocked?
INTUITION
There are 7 different types of decision-making authority, which shows how your internal system communicates with you. Combine that with the gifts of your awareness centers—the spleen (what you instantly know), the emotional center (what you feel), and the mind (what you think)—and you start to understand your instincts, fears, and mental blocks.
This section helps you notice where your clarity lives as well as, what tends to cloud it.
We explore:
What do you instinctively trust?
What tends to cloud your judgment?
CREATIVE PROCESS
There are 12 different profiles and yours shows how you naturally generate action and turn experience into growth. It’s your pathway for living into your design. We also look at your environment and sense elements to get a flavor for the type of work you like to do and how you like to do it.
Knowing your creative process helps you design projects and routines that feel natural to you rather than forcing yourself into someone else’s way of working.
We explore:
Are you drawn to hands-on experimentation or deep reflection and knowledge first?
How do you naturally generate momentum in life and work?
INCARNATION CROSS
There are 192 different variations of your Incarnation Cross and yours reflects the theme of your life purpose. It’s where your deepest authentic energy lives and therefore, where self-doubt most often shows up.
Understanding your cross shows where your energy is meant to flow long-term and helps you align projects, relationships, and goals with your natural force.
It’s made up of your 4 main gifts, and so we explore:
Which energies feel natural?
Which feel burdened or underused?
Which ones need more space in your future plans?
COMMUNICATION
The throat center reveals your authentic style of expression. Each gift in this center carries a different flavor. Some are direct, with words and ideas that land clearly and immediately. Others are layered, sharing meaning in a more nuanced, multi-step way—building context or curiosity before the message fully lands.
This insight helps you feel more confident in the ways you naturally communicate, whether you’re leading, selling, teaching, or connecting.
We explore:
Are you direct or more layered in your style?
How does your natural expression show up in your life?
LIFE FORCE FUEL, MOTIVATION & DRIVE
Looking at the crown, ego, sacral, and root centers helps us see what fuels and motivates you—and what drains you. People often think they need more discipline, when really they need clearer access to their own natural drive.
The gates of these centers often reveal whether you’re energized by rhythm, challenge, purpose, pressure, or creative momentum—and where you might be pushing in ways that exhaust you.
We explore:
What truly energizes you?
What leaves you depleted or frustrated?
BECOMING/ YOUR IDENTITY
The G center shows the direction of your identity—the “car your life is driving” or aka, your future self. Knowing where your identity wants to move helps orient your choices, projects, and interactions.
It often reveals the qualities you naturally want to embody, the kinds of experiences that feel most like you, and where self-expression is effortless when you aren’t “trying” to be who you think you should be.
We explore:
How do you love expressing yourself?
What direction feels natural for your identity and life path?
CONDITIONING
Open centers reveal where you’ve absorbed external pressures or expectations. Conditioning can show where you adapt to survive, rather than where your energy naturally wants to move. Seeing it clearly helps you separate what is truly yours from the patterns you learned in order to belong.
We explore:
Where have you adapted to meet others’ expectations?
How can you reclaim your natural flow and expression?
If you want support exploring your design in a practical, grounded way, you can book a reading! Even if you’ve had one before, there’s always more to uncover. We’ll focus on where your curiosity is strongest or where life is asking the most of you right now.
Through reflection, my hope is that you leave with clarity about your needs and how to honor your natural flow.
